LEGOLAND DISCOVERY CENTER DALLAS/FORT WORTH

“LEGO City: Forest Ranger Pursuit” Opens June 1st

LEGOLAND Discovery Center Dallas/Fort Worth is pleased to announce LEGO City: Forest Ranger Pursuit, their first new interactive ride since opening in March 2011. The new 5,000 square-foot indoor-outdoor driving experience is scheduled to open June 1st.

Children will be able to take part in their own driving adventure as they are let loose upon forest pathways in their own off-road LEGO vehicles to chase robbers who have escaped with gold bars from the City. There will be nine different scenes in which kids free drive around a purpose built LEGO course. Don’t worry if you don’t have a drivers license, you can pick up your very own Legoland License after your adventure! Age and height restrictions apply. This exciting new attraction will be located in a newly constructed space near the LEGOLAND Discovery Café.

There will be no additional fee to participate in the driving experience. Entry is included in the overall price of admission.

The $12-million, 35,000-square-foot indoor attraction is the second LEGOLAND Discovery Center venue to open in the U.S. and the fifth in the world. It offers a fun, highly interactive and educational two to three hour indoor experience, which is ideal for families with children. JAY Z is taking over the City of Brotherly Love!

At a Philadelphia Museum of Art press conference, hip-hop superstar JAY Z, along with Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter, announced the launch of the “Budweiser Made in America” music festival, which will be produced by Live Nation.

JAY Z will headline the two-day event, which takes place on Labor Day Weekend (September 1, 2) and will feature approximately thirty artists from a wide array of genres encompassing hip-hop, R & B, Latin, rock, and dance. Though seventy percent of the artists for the festival have been confirmed, their identities will not be revealed until May 21. The common thread among the blockbuster roster of talent is their ability to “embody the American spirit.”

The concerts will take place on three stages at Benjamin Franklin Parkway in Fairmount Park.

A percentage of the proceeds will benefit United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey, Lancaster County PA and New York City. Tickets go on sale Wednesday, May 23 through Ticketmaster and LiveNation.Com. Budweiser Facebook fans will have access to pre-sale tickets beginning Tuesday, May 22.

“Made In America” is also the name popular track and video from JAY Z and Kanye West’s collaborative album Watch the Throne.

New Menu Offers Wide Selection of Beers on Tap and a

Welcoming Combination of Creative New Plates and Traditional Favorites

Not your average sports bar, and certainly not the typical bar food they serve. Bar & Book at Lone Star Park has been completely renovated, upgraded and redesigned. The new menu is one that rivals anyone’s favorite restaurant.

For starters, there are 12 beers on tap ranging from the refreshing Texas favorite, Fireman’s #4, to Guinness, the traditional Irish stout. But it doesn’t stop there. The bar has over 50 brew options ranging from ales to lagers. Guests can find beer from all over the world including England, Germany, Ireland and of course, Texas. And when was the last time you found a hybrid like Anchor Steam from California? That’s what we thought.

The wine selection has been upgraded and expanded to include over a dozen choices ranging from a Sonoma Sauvignon Blanc to an Italian Pinot Grigio. The wine connoisseur of the group will surely be thrilled.

For guests that prefer grain to grape, there is a full bar and 15 specialty Fast Track Cocktail options available including a cocktail that’s better than your grandma’s peach tea palmer. The Win-Place-Show cocktail is made with Jeremiah Weed Sweet Tea Vodka, peach schnapps, lemonade and iced tea. A racetrack favorite is the Lone Star Texas ‘Rita. Made with Cuervo Gold Tequilla, Monin Desert Pear, cranberry juice and sour mix, this margarita will taste delicious with any of the items on the new menu.

Bar & Book’s new food menu is a welcoming combination of creative new plates and traditional favorites. The Chopped and Chipped Nachos for example, are covered in slow-smoked pork shoulder tossed in Buck’s Bourbon, Bacon & Beer BBQ Sauce and topped with Cholula sour cream. They are even served on a wood plank. A new twist to an old favorite is the Fat Elvis Fries. With a flavor as incredibly wild as the name, these sweet potato fries are covered in peanut butter sauce, chopped peppered bacon and dried banana chips.

Bar & Book’s Pork on Pork Sandwich is not for the faint of flavor. The slow-smoked pulled pork is served on a toasted pretzel bun and topped with peanut coleslaw, peppered bacon, fried onion strings and Buck’s Bourbon, Bacon and Beer BBQ Sauce. The Knife and Fork Coney is so big, it is impossible to eat without a knife and fork. Served on a fresh baguette and covered in Texas Red chili, you will need that fork to make sure you get every last bite.

Even the salads on the menu come with some unexpected twists your taste buds will thank you for. Bar & Book’s take on the Baby Caesar includes Iron Skillet cornbread croutons and spicy Caesar dressing. For those looking for a classic, the Cobb Salad is made from the original 1937 Brown Derby recipe.

Major electronic updates in Bar & Book at Lone Star Park make it the ultimate sports-watching venue in North Texas. Eleven 32” dedicated flat screen televisions and three projection televisions will feature all major sports events throughout the year including football, baseball, basketball, hockey and more. A multi-user interactive touchscreen television table has been integrated to display electronic menus with direct order capability as well as various media content and games.

Additionally, Bar & Book is open 363 days of the year, and the sports bar is one of the very few locations left with indoor smoking areas, however with the state of the art ventilation system, you would never know. In tribute to Texas sports, the walls are adorned in oversized 9-by-12-foot art banners featuring some of the most recognizable and iconic moments in North Texas history.

Lone Star Park at Grand Prairie, a Class I racetrack operated by Global Gaming Solutions LLC, offers a 53-day 2012 Spring Thoroughbred Season which opens Thursday, April 12 and concludes on Sunday, July 8. Live racing will be held four days a week, Thursday and Friday at 6:35 p.m. (except Thursday, May 31 and Thursday, July 5 when there will be no live racing), and Saturday and Sunday at 1:35 p.m. The racing program on Memorial Day, May 28, will start at 1:35 p.m. Special twilight programs will be held at 5 p.m. on both Tuesday, July 3 (with post-race concert by award-winning country artist Pat Green) and Wednesday, July 4 (with the Lone Stars & Stripes Fireworks Celebration).
